Angioplasty

Arterial venous malformations (AVM)

Stroke secondary to atherosclerosis

Stroke secondary to carotid stenosis

Tissue Plasminogen Activator (TPA)– clot-busting medication that should be administered within 3 hours of stroke episode to improve patient outcome.

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) - stroke-like symptoms that resolve in 24 hours but do not injure the brain. People who experience TIAs are at increased risk of having a stroke within 2 weeks of the episode.
