Pediatric Neuroscience Institute
The Pediatric Neuroscience Institute (PNI) at Hackensack University Medical Center is a comprehensive team made up of dedicated and highly skilled specialists who are committed to caring for patients with a full spectrum of neurological disorders. Our state-of-the-art facility includes an epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU), well-equipped intensive care and inpatient units, comfortable outpatient accommodations for patients and families. We have a broad range of neurosurgical capabilities, including operating rooms equipped with the latest technological advances. Our experienced neurosurgeons can handle any neurosurgical problem. In addition, we have the most modern technology available for diagnosis and treatment, to ensure each patient has the best possible care. Our multidisciplinary team consists of neurologists, epileptologists, neurosurgeons, pediatric neurosurgeons, pediatric neurologists, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, educational counselors, social workers, and electroencephalography (EEG) technologists.
PNI provides all aspects of care, including advanced neurosurgical techniques, to help patients with five major groups of disorders:
- Congenital and developmental disorders (including hydrocephalus and craniofacial disorders)
- Brain tumors
- Head trauma
- Spasticity and other movement disorders
- Epilepsy
