MEDICAL CENTER PHYSICIAN RECOGNIZED


Peter S. Hersh, M.D., director of the Cornea and Laser Eye Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center was recently recognized as a leader in the field of refractive surgery during a meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Hackensack University Medical Center physician Peter S. Hersh, M.D. was recently recognized as a leader in the field of refractive surgery during a meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.Dr. Hersh currently serves as director of the Cornea and Laser Eye Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center. He is a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry - N.J. Medical School, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Hersh's clinical and research interests are devoted exclusively to excimer laser, refractive and corneal surgery. He has participated in a number of FDA clinical trials in refractive surgery, and currently serves on the medical advisory board of Summit Autonomous, a manufacturer of advanced laser vision correction products.

Summit Autonomous honored Dr. Hersh during the conference by inducting him into the Summit Autonomous Society and awarding him with the SAS Silver Award. The society recognizes distinguished ophthalmologists that have performed 1,000 or more laser vision correction procedures on the laser systems of Summit Autonomous in a calendar year.
