MEDICAL CENTER CAR SEAT SAFETY
PROGRAM A HUGE SUCCESS!
Two Passaic County police officers recently participated in a free safety inspection of child car seats at Hackensack University Medical Center. Clifton P.O. Edgar Ruiz, third from left, and Prospect Park Police Officer Nicholas Portella, third from right, were among the experts who worked one-on-one with parents to be sure their child's car seat was properly installed. Dozens of motorists registered for this free program, which was hosted by the medical center's Department of Trauma and Injury Prevention. Representatives from local Bergen County police departments, the Bergen County Police Department, and the Bergen County Office of Highway Safety also performed the inspections. From left are Ronald Jones of Hasbrouck Heights, director, Security Services, Hackensack University Medical Center; John Lo Curto, M.D. of Park Ridge, director, Department of Trauma and Injury Prevention; Officer Ruiz; Meliam Gonzalez, R.N. of Englewood, trauma prevention coordinator; Officer Portella; Ramsey Police Officer Jeffrey Kimmel; and Joel Trella, director, Bergen County Office of Highway Safety.
