SON'S PHILANTHROPIC GIFT TO MEDICAL CENTER
IS LATE FATHER'S WISH
Mark Gabrellian, managing director of Gabrellian Associates in Paramus, recently presented a check for $1 million to Hackensack University Medical Center. The gift represents part of the $6 million philanthropic commitment to the medical center made by his late father Sarkis Gabrellian.
Two weeks before he died in September of 1998, Mr. Gabrellian pledged the $6 million donation to the medical center in honor of Mark Gabrellian's two children, Christine and Michael. The gift represents the largest single contribution to any Bergen County hospital, and one of the largest individual donations to any hospital in the United States. The funds will support women's and children's programs at the medical center.
