ACCREDITATION SIGNIFIES MEDICAL CENTER'S
DIABETES CARE IS COMPREHENSIVE
For the third time, The American Diabetes Association has accredited The Diabetes Center at Hackensack University Medical Center for providing high-quality care for those who suffer with diabetes.
Joseph Giangola, M.D. of Paramus, medical director of The Diabetes Center, said the recognition is evidence of the staff's dedication. "We care deeply about our patients, and take pride in our comprehensive services, " he said. "The approval of the American Diabetes Association once again signifies The Diabetes Center is a state-of-the art facility."
Diabetes is a lifelong disease that can impact a person's physical, social, and psychological well being. The Diabetes Center provides outpatient care for people with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. A staff, including physicians, nurses, a registered dietitian, and diabetes educators, develops individual treatment plans, and provides patients with the proper medication, counseling, and education, enabling them to manage their disease and live a healthy, productive, and satisfying life.
Hackensack University Medical Center, one of New Jersey's premier university-based teaching facilities, is one of only a handful of International Diabetes Center affiliates in the United States.
