Accepting the donation is John P. Ferguson, Hackensack University Medical Center president and chief executive officer; and Robert L. The new, five-story, state-of-the-art research facility, located on the medical center campus, is scheduled for opening this spring.

Mr. Minicucci is founder of the MOLLY Foundation, which to date has donated a total of $315,000 to Hackensack University Medical Center. Mr. Minicucci's daughter Molly was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes nearly twenty years ago, and researchers still seek a cure.

The MOLLY Foundation is located on the medical center campus in the DON-IMUS-WFAN Pediatric Center for Tomorrows Children, and provides an array of services for diabetic patients and their families, including clinical services, support services for both acute and long-term treatment, a pediatric diabetes hotline, and educational programs.

At the new David Joseph Jurist Research Center for Tomorrows Children, laboratory studies will be conducted in several disciplines, including oncology, molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, and virology. The research center will also contain a 100-seat lecture hall, a computer center, and an area dedicated solely to clinical research.

John P. Ferguson, Hackensack University Medical Center president and chief executive officer, said the generous donation will help the medical center accomplish its goal of becoming a premier research authority both nationwide and worldwide.

"As we continue to provide the highest quality of patient care, the research performed here will enable us to advance our medical techniques as far as possible," Mr. Ferguson said. "Mr. Minicucci is a partner in building toward this goal."

Robert L. Torre, Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation vice president and chief operating officer, said Mr. Minicucci's donation is greatly appreciated. "He has been a solid supporter of this medical center," Mr. Torre said. "We are indebted to him for his contributions here."
