| PROJECT PLUS OF BERGEN COUNTY CELEBRATES LITERACY AT HACKENSACK UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER One of the greatest contributions a person can make is taking the time to teach someone to read. Project Literacy Plus of Bergen County does this every day, so it is quite fitting the organization recently celebrated its 16th Annual Awards Reception in The Hekemian Conference Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. Honorary Chairman Robert C. Garrett of Morris Township, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Hackensack University Medical Center, welcomed the guests and extended accolades for all the hard work and achievements made in literacy. “We extend a warm welcome home to Project Plus because we consider this your home. Great people promote adult literacy and we commend their contribution as an organization. Hackensack University Medical Center will continue to support Project Plus. We are honored to be affiliated with such an important organization.” Speakers included: Thomas R. McVeigh of Ramsey, president, Project Plus; Tammy Molinelli of Woodcliff Lake, executive director of Bergen County Workforce Investment Board; Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney of Ho-Ho-Kus, Plus honorary trustee; and The Honorable Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Bergen County Freeholder chairwoman.
