FREE SCREENINGS OFFERED BY MEDICAL CENTER AND NEW JERSEY COMMISSION FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED FOR PERSONS WITH DIABETES
Hackensack University Medical Center, in cooperation with the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, will perform free comprehensive eye exams for anyone with diabetes who has not had a dilated exam in the last 12 months. The screening will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Health Center, located at 212 Terrace Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights. Complimentary parking and refreshments will be provided.
Participants may want to have someone drive them home, since the eye drops administered during the examination may cause temporary blurring of vision. Regular eye exams can prevent the vision loss and blindness experienced frequently by persons with diabetes.
The screening is available by appointment only. To schedule, please call (201) 393-7464.
