MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS SEVENTH ANNUAL PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY/TRAUMA SYMPOSIUM
The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and The Trauma and Injury Prevention Section of the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center recently hosted the Seventh Annual Pediatric Emergency/Trauma Symposium at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck. The purpose of the symposium was to provide physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals with the most recent clinical treatment modalities and analysis of current related research for the care of the injured or ill child.
John J. LoCurto, M.D., FACS of Park Ridge, director of the Trauma and Injury Prevention Section of the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center and clinical assistant professor of surgery at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School was the moderator. Medical center staff presented lectures and were joined by Steven Stylianos, M.D., FACS, FAAP, director of the Regional Pediatric Trauma Program at the Children’s Hospital of New York; Andrew Yeager, CAC, NCAC, SAC, a counselor at Park Ridge High School and clinical director for the Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Bergen, Inc.; and Sunandan B. Singh, M.D., Chief Medical Examiner of Bergen County.
