THE SPORTS MEDICINE INSTITUTE HOSTS SEMINAR “NUTRITION FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE”



The Sports Medicine Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center will host a seminar “Nutrition for Peak Performance” on Wednesday, May 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The seminar, designed by healthcare professionals to help high school coaches, trainers, and parents assist youth will be held in The Hekemian Conference Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack. National Strength & Condition Association (NSCA) contact hours will be available. Light refreshments will be served, and complimentary parking is available. Sue Thorsland, M.S., R.D., CNSD, clinical dietitian of the Department of Pediatrics at the medical center will be presenting the program. She received her M.S. in nutrition from the University of Maryland. Ms. Thorsland is a certified registered dietitian (RD) and a certified nutrition support dietitian (CNSD). She has professional affiliations, including the American Dietetic Association and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Ms. Thorsland has practiced extensively in pediatric sub-specialties, as well as outpatient diabetes education.
