| CUPID’S ARROW FINDS ITS MARK AT SIXTH ANNUAL BACHELOR’S
AUCTION HOSTED BY TOMORROWS CHILDREN’S FUND The Tomorrows Children’s Fund (TCF) recently hosted its Sixth Annual Bachelor Auction at the Marriot at Glenpointe. The evening included a reception, dinner, and an auction of more than 40 eligible bachelors, which included medical center employees. Proceeds benefited TCF, which provides emotional, social, and financial assistance to youngsters being treated for cancer or serious blood disorders at Hackensack University Medical Center. TCF is located at The DON IMUS-WFAN Pediatric Center for Tomorrows Children at Hackensack University Medical Center, part of The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. The benefit netted $11,000 to assist in providing children with state-of-the-art medical assistance. At the start of the auction, Kathy Ambrose of Washington Township, administrative director of TCF, shared the news of a love match made through last year’s auction. Kristi De Gise of Saddle Brook met, and had the winning bid on a man she will wed this June. Kristi said, “I met Charles Austin of Saddle Brook during the cocktail reception. A friend who I was with saw him first, read his program biography, and told me that he was perfect for me.” She said that when the bidding started, she did not know there would be so much competition. “I only had $150 to spend, which I thought was enough to spend on any man.” The bidding continued and her friends at the table chipped in to make the winning bid of $350. A month later, on their first date, they couple says they “totally clicked.” After our second date, “I knew he was the one for me,” said Kristi. In September of 2002, Charles proposed 40 feet underwater while they were scuba diving on a vacation in Jamaica. As the crowd wildly applauded the couple as they announced their June 2003 nuptials, Kristi and Charles took a turn together down the catwalk & delighted everyone with a kiss. Ms. Ambrose said, “It is amazing to have such a wonderful ending occur while helping the children. We wish all our dates happy endings!” For more information about you can help support TCF, please call (201) 996-5500. |
