The best defense against breast cancer is early detection and prevention. The Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Care works in partnership with Hackensack University Medical Center's Health Awareness Regional Program and a number of national organizations and local community groups to increase women's and men's knowledge of breast care issues and to help them manage a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Highlights include:

  • Community health fairs, where information about breast health is distributed
  • Educational corporate health programs brought directly to the worksite
  • Activities conducted with the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and other local groups to rasie breast cancer awareness
